Glutamate-mediated cytosolic calcium oscillations regulate a pulsatile prostaglandin release from cultured rat astrocytes
J Physiol Zonta et al. 553: 407

Supplementary Material

Figure 1. Astrocytes and EP 1 -EGFP HEK U cells are not electrically coupled.

A. Representative dual patch-clamp recordings from an astrocyte and an adjacent EP 1 -EGFP HEK U cell. Currents were elicited by a series of voltage pulses (from –90 mV to +50 mV, in 10 mV steps; both cells were at a holding potential of –70 mV) first to the EP1 -EGFP HEKU cell (top traces) and then to the astrocyte (bottom traces). Current traces were not leak subtracted; the dashed line corresponds to the zero level.

B. Dual patch-clamp recordings from the same cells as in A after stimulation with 20 mM t-ACPD.

Movie 1. A,B,C,

Time-lapse movies displaying the correlation between [Ca2+]i elevations in the astrocytes and in each EP1 -EGFP HEKU cell shown in Figure 2 of the manuscript. The image of the three fluorescent EP1-EGFP HEKU cells is superimposed to the first frame in movie1A. Sampling rate, 2s.
