When ‘BzATP’ is shown in the lower
right corner of this continuously looping movie, the perfusate contained 100 µM of
this P2X7 agonist. Note that some of the red blood cells were displaced as
the pericytes contracted and the lumen
narrowed. Frames were acquired every 8 s for 13.3 min. The scale bar shows
10 µm. BzATP induces pericyte contraction
and lumen constriction in retinal microvessels.
