Frequently Asked Questions
about Member Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

When you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?

    Contact membership{at}physoc.org

  3. What should I get with a member subscription to The Journal of Physiology Online?

    Member Subscribers have access to:
Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, and links to Medline and GenBank for current, archive and Physiology in Press articles. You will also have interjournal links to other HighWire Press journals, and the advantage of having password access to Journal of Physiology Online from any computer connected to the Internet.
    [Physiological Society membership]

  4. Will I still be able to get the paper version?

Yes, Members will be able to purchase a paper version of The Journal at membership rates.

  5. Who is eligible for a Member Subscription?

Physiological Society Members are eligible for Member Subscriptions to The Journal of Physiology, providing them with a free online version. A paper version can also be purchased. Members may also have access to Journal of Physiology Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member Subscriptions in that full-text access is only available from the institution's network.

  6. How can I access The Journal of Physiology Online if I am not a Physiological Society Member and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

You may wish to apply for Physiological Society membership or you may purchase individual papers. Without a subscription you have access to Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.

  7. How do I become a Member of the Physiological Society?

Information about the Physiological Society membership and application forms are available from the Society.
